In my prior post about jog fall, I have mentioned
Dabbe falls. Here I’m going to explain much more about the place, surroundings
and situation we experienced from the place.
Unlike my previous post it’s difficult for me to point out the technical geographical details of the place since it’s kind of a remote area and Wikipedia doesn’t have the details. You can recognize the direction to the place from my previous post Jog falls.
From the lodge near to Jog fall we packed our
belongings and continued our ride to Bhatkal after many disasters. On the way
we discussed about our tour. We then intended to see the Dabbe falls while we
reach nearby. We ride the bikes slowly capturing all the beautiful sceneries of
forest and nearby villages. After long away, we saw a new tourist destination
named Sharavathi valley wildlife sanctuary. Here in the post my description
does not concern about wildlife sanctuary since I’m forced to write only about
Dabbe falls. After lengthy duration of journey we reach near to Dabbe fall
road. We both bikes ride along to the destination through the creepy forest
road. Following some adventurous riding we reach at the Dabbe fall site. We can
see a beautiful dwelling close by some vegetable farms. We have talked to the dwelling
holder. They have a notepad where we need to append our name and address detail
in it. The book is provided by the forest officers to keep track of visitor. This
householder has small responsibility on the tourist who comes to Dabbe falls.
So they demand everyone to add the detail in the notepad. This householder also
provides food if we order. They provided us a rope to use while trucking
through forest. Entering everyone’s detail we had started walking to the water
falls. We are actually now at the top of Dabbe falls where this dwelling and
farm exist. We continue walking to downhill.
Way to bottom is steep down. We have to conquer many difficulties while on foot through this way. So we step down to downhill with care. The way was getting dangerous as we reach down. But we sustained with care. At some locations we tie the rope on tree to grip well while climbing down. Now we could see the Dabbe falls little far away from us. We were excited by seeing it. The falls look beautiful with the rainbow across it. Now we have to reach there. Climbing down more we reach at downhill. We made loud sounds of happiness. We could see beautiful fishes and stones in the water. We started capturing beautiful sceneries of Dabbe falls. Then planned to swim and bath after ensuring the water is safe. We bathed for long time since no one except we people are there. We even thought to stay there for a day. Hours later, we planned to climb upward since the time was getting late. We started climbing uphill. Comparing stepping downhill and stepping uphill, stepping uphill is not that much difficult. Anyway we reach at the top. We walked to the house to see householder and thanked him for giving the rope. But we need to stay little more there since the lunches we order were not ready. But we are not disappointed because of this. We were so happy to hear it. We roamed the nearby farm and surrounding and took beautiful photos of green world. The householder called us for the lunch after sometime. They kept 5 banana leaves on the floor. We sat on the beautiful cold muddy floor. They started serving the vegetarian food one by one. First achaar, then upperi, then curd etc etc…… I will say anywhere anytime that the best vegetarian food I ever had in my life was from house near to Dabbe falls. They have used the vegetables and even the rice from their farm, to make the complete dish. We all eat the food well. We were happy and they too were happy when we said the food was yummy and we never eat such in our life. We had paid the food bill. It was so Economy when we consider such a good food in the forest. After lunch we talk with householder for extensive time about the surroundings and all. Then we planned to leave. We thanked the householder for their kind help and serving. Then we started returning to the Bhatkal. We reach at the forest main road. We took rest and slept at many places. Then we continued to Bhatkal since the time was getting late. We reach at the Bhatkal in the late evening. We started talking about the moments we had in the tour………….and the next tour we can have.
